Working and Playing Hard

I was inside gleefully fulfilling my household chores without any children to undo it, although then there were also no children to help! Instead they were out working away with Abe and riding atv's. Those boys have the good life being able to work and play with their Dad! I had it pretty good too; Folding laundry and watching tv in the middle of the day.
Abe is working really hard on de-junking the farm. It's kind of an uphill battle, but there is progress and Crew wants to make it look nice as well.  Hopefully they can join their efforts for quicker results as the boys get older.

Happy Birthday Crew: Part 2

Crew waited until Friday and we all went up to Reno as a family to celebrate and do a little shopping and dinner together. Our waiter was awesome and brought both boys a pazookie for Crew's birthday. BJ's never disappoints.

Crew loved dinner and the time we were all able to spend together. It was a good day!

Happy Birthday Crew: Part 1

Unlucky for Crew, he had to have school on his birthday. But we made sure to sing to him a million times before we sent him to school. I also  went into school and had lunch with him. He didn't want to leave school for lunch because he wanted to make sure he got time to play. Everyone sitting at the lunch table excitedly sang happy birthday to Crew, and he turned a deep shade of red. But his little grin let me know that even though he was a little embarrassed, that he loved the attention of his friends singing to him!

Soon enough school was out and Crew came home to a decorated kitchen and the requested chocolate mint cake.  The boys played, no homework was done, we had the requested quesadilla dinner, and family over for cake and presents.

Crew received fruit and snacks for school and a chest to build with Abe's mom, money from my parents, and a bruder tractor from Abe and I. When Crew unwrapped the tractor and saw the bruder box, he closed his eyes until he turned the box over and was able to get a good look at what was in the box. I think it was a home run gift.

Lots of singing, love, and happiness were shared with everyone.

Crew is one amazing boy! He works so hard, is obedient, kind, and a good example. He loves to show affection and spend time with those that he loves. Even though school is not his favorite, he works very hard to do his best and please his teacher. He has great discipline and is able to make well thought out choices. He is getting more goofy and a little silly in his personality. Thankfully he has a really goofy set of parents that keep him laughing, loosened up, and laughing at himself. He has developed a love for chapter books and listening to our nightly reading. I love Crew and all that he adds to our family. Our family is so much better because of him!

How is it that he is already 6?! Can time please slow down so I can enjoy this time of life longer!!?!
