Rigby Lake

Today we spent the day splashing around at Rigby lake. I am definitely losing my Idaho blood because I thought it was freezing, as did my children, but everyone else thought it was warm. What can I say, I am made for hot weather.

The boys kicked around on boogie boards most of the day, and Molly and Tyler rented paddle boards. They were kind enough to share and I got about 10 minutes on one as well.

Crew and I could have stayed and played all day in the water. Sawyer was over it in about an hour and hung out on the shore most of the time.

Adventures With Grandpa

Today Grandpa had work off and we were able to spend the whole day with him. The boys really wanted to go fishing. Even though there aren't any good fishing spots near home, this time of year, we still went out. The boys loved watching Grandpa get everything ready. I enjoyed watching Crew learn how to fish and about Grandpa when he was a little boy. Crew's favorite story was about Grandpa (Joel) and his Dad (Marvin) going out fishing. Joel's fishing pole was pulled into the water by a fish and he was pretty upset about it. Marvin used a hook and fished out the fishing pole. Crew vamped up the story when he re-told it and said Grandpa jumped in after the pole to save it! Small correction...

Crew also enjoyed learning about how the river moved and where the fish tend to swim. Grandpa taught him about some birds and told more stories about fishing and riding bare back on horses through the river bottoms.

After fishing we went home to take a break. The boys and I decided to ride our bikes to the dairy while my Dad went to go visit my Mom and the blood drive she was running. Well, when we almost to the dairy the boys thought it would be a good idea to race down and hill and around a corner as I am saying, "Don't race. Slow down." The collided and Sawyer crashed and skid along the path. His knees and elbows were bleeding immediately. Sawyer started crying because his bike was scratched up and then started wailing when he saw the blood. I hugged him and got him to calm down a little bit and I was able to get him onto his bike. We rode a short ways when his bike peg went into my wheel and he again crashed to the ground. Thankfully he was able to catch himself and only bike crashed again. At this point I called my Dad and he came to get us.

After a lot of band aids and pain relief, Sawyer was good to go.

We met up with Great Grandpa Trent for dinner. It was so good to see him all cleaned up, shaven, and happy to be out. My boys were super impressed that he used to work on and could fix any semi truck, and many other things. My Grandpa Trent is so kind and loving but his words are become too hard to put together. We shared a few words back and forth, but mostly smiles and giggles and several embraces. Somehow I forgot to snap a picture before we parted ways; he doesn't like to be away from home for too long.

On the way home we stopped to see Grandma and help clean up from the blood drive. She had a long day!

Idaho

More adventures today. It started out with a morning visit to Grandma and Grandpa Arave's. It was a gorgeous day as we sat outside and watched the boys ride their bikes around. We did have a little snack of pistachios as we waited to go to Reed's Dairy after the lunch rush.

My beautiful Grandma Arave loving on Keegan.

Next up we devoured some delicious grilled ham and cheese sandwiches, chips, sodas, and ice cream. Junk food heaven.

Sawyer has loved meeting Keegan. He is very smitten and loves to touch her tenderly.
