Utah Visit

I was very excited to go visit my brother and his family. We had not been to their house in a long time and we needed to see their newest addition in person! We were well taken care of, well fed, had good entertainment, and lots of fun!
Crew and Dallin played together very well! I think Crew's favorite part of the visit was going to the park and digging in the sand with the toys! He asked to go every 30 minutes for the next day and a half! Thank goodness he was able to go again with Abe while I was at women's conference.
A close second would have to be the big giant snowflakes falling! Crew had been asking me if I could make it snow, and I told him that sadly I could not; that night he prayed that it would snow. The next day we were in Utah and we were able to experience seeing the snow and playing in a little bit of it!

Women's Conference

We were able to visit as many friends and family as we could squeeze in for the two days we were in Utah. (We got their Thursday very late and we left Sunday morning.) I still missed seeing many people that I would have loved to visit!
Abe wanted to visit his "bald friend Craig" (Abe's words, not mine!) which let me see Chelsea! We saw their new house, met up at Camille's and saw her new house that is almost done, and my uncle Paul's new house. I snagged a few minutes with Gregg, Valine, Dalline and his new wife Rebecca.
Camille asked for 3 tickets to Women's conference and somehow got an extra one. Camille, April, Chelsea, and I went to conference together! It was great seeing so many women in one place!
We were bottom level, fifth row back, and very close to security! We totally scored on seat! It was great to be able to see the person speaking!
We followed up conference with a late night at Cafe Rio laughing and chatting about life. Great memories! I have great women in my life!

All those women with their giant bags going through security. Myself included!

I think this was about our 5th attempt to have someone take our pictures to show how close we were. This was the best. I believe this is after we accidentally bumped into a crowd rope barrier and it fell off during one of the said attempts! It was slightly embarrassing but we survived.

Smoothies and Snuggles

Sawyer and Crew love their smoothies! But on a cold morning they can end up with purple lips and fingers after they are done. The most important and fun part of having a smoothie are the snuggles after!

Mischievous Sawyer

If Sawyer gets quiet we're in trouble. Even if he isn't quiet we could be in trouble. Today he ran up to Abe with salve all over his face and hands. Thank goodness that is all it got on!

ABC School: First Day

Crew was very excited to take his bag to school. But he wasn't so excited about me leaving him. You can see his apprehension in the picture below as he takes off his shoes. But after a few head popping hugs and kisses, he was ready to go learn. I headed home to get Sawyer and take him out for playgroup at the park. Sawyer was lost at the park without Crew and kept yelling for him. Sawyer stayed closer than he ever has and didn't explore much without his older brother.
When I picked up Crew he opened the door with a smile on his face and excitement in his voice! He had a great first day. The biggest let down for him was not getting to take his bag home. (It stays in the school tote that travels from home to home.)

At the end of a busy day the kids, and I, enjoyed their bath and an early bed time!

ABC School

I joined a small group of moms for ABC school. To help Crew feel a little more excited about school I brought him to pick out his new school supplies. After going around the store a few times we could not find a pencil bag! At least a pencil bag that wasn't pink. We went home, put Sawyer down for a nap, and I let Crew go through my scrapes of fabric. We found some Dr Seuss material and went to work.
I was pretty pleased with the results and Crew carried around the bag with him the rest of the day! Off to school tomorrow!

Haircuts

A major plus for having all boys in the house is haircut day. I can line them all up and get their hair done quickly and easily. I always feel like my boys show how much they have changed when I cut their hair. I remembered to snag a before and after of each of them this time. . . Well, I got a mostly before on Crew and Abe; I had already trimmed the sides.

Abe hates to sit and have his haircut. I continue to work on cutting his hair faster. The last few times I have been rewarded by Abe asking if I was really already done!

I told Abe that his after picture did not look very good and when he looked at it he told me he liked it because it made his face look fatter!  I had to laugh! We have opposite wishes in life!!

Crew: Puzzles

We took a little trip to the thrift store and picked up a puzzle for a quarter. I also scored rummikub for a quarter! During Sawyer's nap Crew and I put this puzzle together. I remember putting this exact puzzle together at my Grandma Arave's home. After the boarder is assembled Crew can do much of the puzzle on his own! He was rather thrilled when he put the final piece in and told me that he loved his puzzle and proceeded to kiss and hug it.
