Thanksgiving

We stayed home for Thanksgiving and invited Nate and Lauren over for the weekend. We also invited the Sones to join us in the celebration. In turn our group got invited to join and even bigger party at Donald and Kenna's home. We all pitched in and had great food, wonderful company, and good conversation.  We left the party late and just in time! Nate and Lauren were pulling up to our house when we got there and we were able to share our Thanksgiving feast leftovers with them.
The weekend consisted of this: The men going to sand mountain, the women working on projects, the kids playing, out to dinner at La Fiesta, a BYU vs UNR game, and shopping. I didn't get to go to the game because I was taking care of the kids, but I did get to join them for the shopping afterwords.
I am so thankful for all of the close family and friends that we have. I feel blessed beyond measure with everything spiritually and temporally that I have!

Snow!!

We love getting snow! It is such a treat and we have been praying to get a lot of it! They boys ran around in our yard to enjoy the snow. If they were to leave the grass then they would meet a huge muddy mess!

My Boys

Who knew that my two boys could love each other so much at one moment, be utterly annoyed with another the next, and the quickly move back onto playing and adoring one another. Okay, probably all mothers out there that have already been were I am know of this. But it's still pretty great to watch!
I realized that I have not had my camera out for a bit and family has been asking me to take some specific pictures. As I was prepping my camera this morning Sawyer wanted me to take his picture; as in he was fighting tooth and nail to get in front of it!! But when it came time for the real deal he wasn't all that cooperative, but I did snag a few that I think will work.

Sawyer enjoying his smoothie and a tractor book.
Crew had his follow up hearing test yesterday. I did major bribing prep and had wrapped a "surprise" for him if he was cooperative, spoke to the doctors, and played the "hearing game." I was probably grinning ear to ear as I saw him pushing himself outside of his comfort zone. He spoke up, looked at the doctor and audiologist in the eye, smiles, and most importantly passed his hearing test with flying colors! He was able to hear to 10 decibels and no longer displayed the issues that had been around in April.
When we got out to the car he was able to open his surprise and loved his John Deere Lego set. Today during nap time we put all of it together and played. It consumed all three hours of Sawyer's nap!

Camping: Little Sahara

Since we pulled in at 1:00 am we were unaware of how close we were to the big sand mountain until we woke up in the morning and looked out our window. It was right there! My kids loved all of the soft sand! It was so fun to play in and wasn't all that sticky.
On our last full day of camping, our good friends came to join in on the fun! The day started out beautiful with not even a breeze! But by late afternoon it was getting breezy, then windy, followed by gusting mouthfuls of sand. We had to quickly make space in our camper for 11 people! It was very, very full!!!
All of that wind brought in snow the next morning. It was exciting and beautiful to watch as we got ready for church. On our way to Delta, for church, our truck stopped running and we coasted to a stop. The fuel light hadn't come on and Abe said he had noticed the oil was low and had thrown a quart in. After talking it out we decided to put fuel in the tank anyway and see if that was the problem. Thankfully Abe had put 5 gallons of diesel in the back of the truck! After filling it up and priming the truck a few times it started and we made it to church.
It was a fantastic trip and Abe is ready to go again next year. Maybe we can get more of the people we invited to join in the fun next year!

I love this picture of Abe because you can see the sand mountain and our camp in his glasses.
The one and only nap Sawyer took was due to him falling asleep on a ride. I then laid him down in the camper where he got a good 2 hours in before he needed to wake up.

Camping: Little Sahara

Abe was invited to join a group to go camping and four wheeling in Utah. He was kind enough to invite all of us along to join in the fun! My kids had a blast, I had a blast, and Abe was in heaven! My kids played in the sand all day long and still wanted more!
Crew fell out of the bunk bed one night and bounced off of our bed then onto the floor below. It was loud and scary! I snuggled up with him in my bed and in the morning he asked why he was in my bed. Crew had no recollection of falling out of bed (thank goodness) and did fine the rest of the trip.
