Since we pulled in at 1:00 am we were unaware of how close we were to the big sand mountain until we woke up in the morning and looked out our window. It was right there! My kids loved all of the soft sand! It was so fun to play in and wasn't all that sticky.
On our last full day of camping, our good friends came to join in on the fun! The day started out beautiful with not even a breeze! But by late afternoon it was getting breezy, then windy, followed by gusting mouthfuls of sand. We had to quickly make space in our camper for 11 people! It was very, very full!!!
All of that wind brought in snow the next morning. It was exciting and beautiful to watch as we got ready for church. On our way to Delta, for church, our truck stopped running and we coasted to a stop. The fuel light hadn't come on and Abe said he had noticed the oil was low and had thrown a quart in. After talking it out we decided to put fuel in the tank anyway and see if that was the problem. Thankfully Abe had put 5 gallons of diesel in the back of the truck! After filling it up and priming the truck a few times it started and we made it to church.
It was a fantastic trip and Abe is ready to go again next year. Maybe we can get more of the people we invited to join in the fun next year!
| I love this picture of Abe because you can see the sand mountain and our camp in his glasses. |
| The one and only nap Sawyer took was due to him falling asleep on a ride. I then laid him down in the camper where he got a good 2 hours in before he needed to wake up. |
