Fixing a Four Wheeler and Car

Today we rounded up some necessary tools and jacks (bed lifts) to work on the vehicles we have around here. Crew did a fabulous job checking and filling the tires, looking at the engine (it was having trouble starting), changing the oil, putting in gas. It was pretty adorable watching Crew mimic everything his Dad does, including facial expressions when checking something out and fixing it. Furrowed brow and all!

He used this popper toy to charge the battery that was dead. Rather creative!

Meanwhile, Sawyer was zoning out and I went to share the news that his car needed to be worked on. He hurried and grabbed some tools and soon was in the mix.

Sawyers preferred tool: the hammer. For everything!

Books

This morning I was doing dishes as the kids ran around and played. They pulled out their blankets and books and snuggled up on the floor. Unfortunately I missed the cutest moments with them sharing a book and blanket, but the memory is sweet!

Sick and Tired

We took a very quick trip to Idaho for Anne's farewell. It was so good to see her and have the boys spend time with her before she left. When we got home Crew and I got the pukes, and then all three of us had colds. We are a little worn out but I am glad we are home to be sick and get better. I am even more grateful that Crew didn't puke until the night we got home. That would have been a miserable drive by myself!!!

Sawyer was taking an extra long nap and I went in to check on him. I couldn't help but snap a few pictures. I guess I wasn't quiet enough because he soon woke up.

Crew spent the entire day watching TV and relaxing.

Anne

Anne has been called to the Milwaukee Wisconsin, to serve as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It is very exciting to see her go and teach people about Christ. It was great to be there and support her. Sadly Abe had to work, but we still enjoyed our time.
We left Thursday at 6:00 am, with a few extra passengers, to go to Idaho to support Anne. It was fun to have my friend Kona and her baby in tow. The boys loved singing to Braylee and sharing their toys. I was a little nervous about Sawyer and how he would do staying dry, since we just finished his first week of potty training, but he was a pro!
Cousins played, we ate good food, we laughed, and we all were constantly asking when Anne would be home from work. Camille was there and we were able to meet Pete and she took a few family pictures for us on Sunday.
It was great to have a lot of Trent family, Arave family, see my Grandma and Grandpa Arave, Grandpa Trent, and many family friends.
The trip was quick and we left Monday at 6:00 am so I could get home in time for my ballet class.

Photo-bomb done right!

Firehouse School Trip

Crew was so excited to take a field trip to the fire station to learn about fire safety and all that a fireman does. Sawyer was excited to tag along!
Mitch began by giving a short lecture and demonstration on fire safety. Crew raised his hand to let everyone know that his dad used "big fire to burn the weeds," and that he was allowed to help. (More like he sat 100 feet away on a four wheeler!) I can see how fire safety is a little harder to explain to a young child when you see your dad shooting it out of a torch. . .  We made sure to go over fire safety again when we got home.

Crew has essential parts to his outfit; his tape measure is more often than not attached to his hip pocket. Today was no exception. Mitch loved this and asked him to use it to measure some tools. Crew felt super helpful! When Mitch asked questions about tools and trucks, Crew also knew all of the tool names and Sawyer chimed in quite often as well.

Whenever I would wander away from Crew's side to take a picture, he was quick to realize it and make an immediate dash to be back at my side.

"Mater shirt!"

It was a great experience the boys loved chatting about it all day!
