Scramble

I feel like I am scrambling to get things together for girls camp. I have sorted and double check our supplies, worked on lists, and put together handouts. I have also been cramming us much fun into our summer as possible. We swim as much as we can and participate in other activities.

Poor Abe didn't get much attention for his birthday with me being gone for grocery shopping for camp, packing up the girls, and all of his work. We still made it to dinner with his parents and I had a cake for him.

Play Museum

Last minute I decided to join a group of friends at the Carson play museum. It wasn't what I expected. I had anticipated more. However, the boys still played for almost 3 hours and then we went to Costco. We were all a little tired from our trip, but it was still fun to see everyone. But we probably won't be going back tot he museum.

Salt Flats

After an exhausting and fun week, it's time to head home. We stopped at the Salt Flats to check them out. We all touched the ground and touched our finger to our tongue. Crew spat, "Aaaack! {spit, pit} that is the most disgusting thing ever! I won't do that again!" I then had them do the same with the water . . . same reaction! It was pretty hot and super bright! We didn't last long before we got back in the car and headed out.

The texture of the salt flats is not what I had anticipated.

When we got home I had beautiful hollyhock blossoms awaiting me. Abe also put in some garden lights to surprise me! What a good guy!

Saturday

We were very busy today! First up we went to several Midway/Heber functions where we were able to see the emergency vehicles and take a look inside. They gave away some giant popsicle that definitely helped cool the boys off! We then gathered some bugs to get another tag. Then came a major flop: the face painting. What a let down! Once I realized that the girl basically could only a rainbow type face paint, I suggested doing fire for the boys. Crew picked blue and green fire, and Sawyer picked "red" fire.
A good majority of the day we spend at the pool. It was so exciting to have Crew jumping off and swimming to me! He was pretty excited himself until he took in some water and was freaked out after that. Sawyer floated around in a very leaky ring and really enjoyed himself.

Friday

Today was a gorgeous day! Sawyer started the morning off right by skidding his tire to oblivion. He has worn through all of the rubber and the inner tube. It made quite the explosion.  Swim lesson were a lot of fun today. It was so warm and sunny compared to the previous days!
Jake and April came up with their family and Camille was very gracious to host a nice family barbecue. We even had our own personal glittering rain storm. It was the most random, small, storm cloud. It was sunny in all directions, except a small storm could over us. The big rain drops glittered as they fell to the ground.
It was fun to have all of our kids together and to visit!
