We scooped Crew up from school as soon as it was over, and headed to the boys favorite restaurant: BJ's. Dinner was delicious, as usual, and we had a lot of fun celebrating Sawyer. The boys would have been excited with just dinner, but we had bought tickets for the globetrotters several months before.
We got in early to the globetrotters game and we were able to interact with some of the players. The boys tried on uniforms, took a few shots, spun basketballs, and got a few signatures. It was a good time to use all of those good manners that we have been practicing. A lot of please and thanks yous, eye contact, and being able to carry on conversation.
At one point, one of the players found out Sawyer was three and about to turn four. He was shocked with Sawyers height and spontaneously signed Sawyer's shirt in his excitement. Sawyer was surprised, happy, and then saddened that his favorite shirt was now permanently ruined. Me too!
Right before the game Crew was munching on a very soft fig bar (these boys are always hungry!), but chomped down on a loose tooth just right. His tooth painfully popped out. After getting a drink his tears were soon dried up and ready to have fun.
The boys were pretty entertained with all of the goofy players and their tricks. Overall it was a fun experience! It was a late night and that means Sawyer turned slap happy. Luckily he didn't have anyone sitting by him so his constant flailing of limbs didn't matter.
Abe went to get the car and we sat by a window waiting and watching. I was on the phone with him and he said he was about to pull up. I hung up and wrangled the boys outside, opened the door to our car that just pulled up, and it wasn't our car! I was mortified. It looked just like ours! I apologized profusely and we all got a good laugh. The kids were thoroughly confused!!! Soon Abe pulled up, I double checked, we piled in, and zipped off to home as fast as we could. It was late when we got home and Crew told me, quite grumpily, that we were to not keep him up late again!
